1. Introduction
Turfy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a sports facility booking platform operated by Dicebag Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Turfy websites, applications, and related services (the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, email address, mobile phone number, and authentication credentials
- Booking information: facility selections, dates, times, and payment details
- Organization data: facility details, pricing, staff roles, and branding preferences
- Usage data: log data, device information, and interaction with the Service
- Communications: messages you send to us and your notification preferences, including SMS opt-in choices
3. How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process bookings and payments
- Send transactional emails, SMS, and push notifications you have enabled
- Improve security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
4. SMS and mobile messaging
If you opt in to SMS, we use your mobile number only to send the booking, waitlist, and verification messages you enabled. SMS is off by default. We do not send marketing texts unless you separately opt in to that type of message.
How you opt in. After creating a Turfy account, go to Account Settings, enter your mobile number, and check one or more SMS boxes (for example Booking Confirmations, Booking Reminders, and Booking Cancellations). We do not send SMS until a number is saved and at least one SMS preference is enabled.
Message frequency is event-based, typically 1–5 messages per booking (confirmation, reminder, cancellation, or waitlist update). If you request SMS verification, we may also send a one-time passcode.
Message and data rates may apply.
We do not sell mobile phone numbers. We do not share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help. You can also turn off SMS types in Account Settings. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We may use a messaging provider (currently Twilio) to deliver SMS. That provider processes your number and message content only to send the texts you requested.
5. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data handling.
6. Data sharing
We may share information with:
- Organizations whose facilities you book (booking and contact details)
- Service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, email, SMS delivery, payments, and analytics)
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and organization policies. If you opt out of SMS, we keep a record of that request as required to honor it.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of marketing communications and SMS
- Restrict or object to certain processing
9. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
10. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
